On November 8, 1976, the landmark investiture and reception dinner for Les Dames d’Escoffier, led by founder Carol Brock, was held at the French Consulate, welcoming 50 pioneering women as its first members. In the intervening years, lies a tale of dedication in overcoming the enormous gender barriers that existed, as well as persistence in discovering the many qualified professional women who were, in fact, there, but largely invisible.

Our mission is to support women in the worlds of food, fine beverages, and hospitality through education, community service, scholarship, and mentoring.

Festa Delle Donne, A Celebration of International Women’s Day, Italian Style

Les Dames d’Escoffier NY (LDNY) invites you to a get-together – a GIRLS NIGHT OUT – celebrating International Women’s Day, Festa Delle Donne style. Dress in festive bright yellow representing the Mimosa Flower, the national symbol for Women’s Day in Italy, and join Dame Marisa May and special guest, Chef Odette Fada, as they demonstrate how to make Italy’s traditional Women’s Day creamy citrus Mimosa Cake, as a tribute to Women’s Friendship. Dame Francine Kowalsky will lead us in a Prosecco toast with La Marca Prosecco. There will be a live free raffle drawing during the demo. Zoom link, recipe and bios will be sent to ticket holders prior to the event.
