Les Dames d’Escoffier New York (LDNY) is the founding and largest chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI), a 501c3 non-profit organization. Located in the most dynamic and competitive city in the world, Les Dames d’Escoffier New York (LDNY) is an unparalleled collective of forward-thinking and successful female leaders in all sectors of the food, beverage, and hospitality industries.
Our mission is to advance and support aspiring professional women in food and beverage, as well as to champion critical industry issues. LDNY’s vision is guided by three objectives: Education, Advocacy and Philanthropy.
Our premier food and fine beverage events are the primary ways we fundraise in support of LDNY’s competitive Scholarship Program, one of our proudest achievements. Created in 1977, our scholarships provide committed students in the world of food and beverage with financial assistance as well as a host of additional industry opportunities.

Leaders across the diverse landscape of food, beverage and hospitality, our members are committed to mentorship and resource-sharing to serve the advancement of women in our industries. Throughout the year, LDNY hosts educational programs and valuable peer-to-peer networking events, and serves as a critical conduit for relationship building and career development. LDNY also offers a Mentoring Program for our scholarship recipients one-to-one with Dames.
LDNY members are creative, thoughtful leaders dedicated to championing relevant industry issues and promoting progress. Created in 1977, our scholarship provides NY-area aspiring students in the world of food, beverage, nutrition and hospitality with financial assistance as well as a host of additional industry networking and mentorship opportunities.

As the founding chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier, LDNY was founded on the principles of equality. Carol Brock saw the inequities women faced in the culinary and hospitality fields and was driven to form an organization that would uplift women throughout the industry. As we approach our 50th anniversary of supporting this mission, we are able to look back and see the results of this work. Women, once unable to thrive in the male dominated culinary and hospitality fields, have become the innovators, chefs, beverage experts, public relations professionals and entrepreneurs that continue to create new pathways in our chosen industries, leading it into the future.
The creative growth of the culinary and hospitality fields is due to the passion of these outstanding women, and their diversity is our core strength. LDNY welcomes women of all races, languages, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, physical differences, sexual orientations, sexual identities and faiths. Diversity is a core value in both our annual membership drive and our scholarship awards. Over the past 50 years, LDNY has awarded over 2 million dollars in scholarships and mentorships to women to support their growth. We work closely with our partner schools to select candidates that not only meet the qualifications of each award, but also represent a vast diversity of exceptional women.
Through our programs, initiatives and partnerships, we strive to include voices from women across all cultures and communities. We are stronger together, and LDNY continues to learn and grow as we lead our industries into the future.
Each vetted LDNY member is a respected professional in her area of specialization, from longstanding thought leaders to rising stars and change-makers. As our membership, collective expertise and inclusivity continue to grow, our organization embodies the many professions and skills of today’s culinary industry as a whole.
