I would like to introduce our 2015 Board of Directors. It is a very impressive group.
Off to at great start, we had our annual event at Morrell Wine Bar, ‘Welcome to 2015’, on January 5. Thanks to Roberta Morell for providing this charming location in Rockefeller Plaza, with great food and wines. The Rockefeller Center Holiday Tree was glorious!
The application for 2015 Scholarships is now on our web site, and all qualified students are encouraged to apply. There is need for donations to the fund, and we are working to win corporate sponsors. Personal connections with companies are the most successful route to achieving contributions. If you have a relationship with any potential scholarship donor, please let me know, and I will have our Fund Raising Committee contact you. It is so important. Receiving a scholarship can change a life!
The Public Relations committee is working to raise the profile of our organization. They ask that you please remember include your LDNY membership in bios and resumes, and that you mention it whenever you receive press coverage. Our LDNY logo is available to any member who would like to use it on credentials. Please contact Michele Scicolone, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Program Committee will hold another of our famous Salon events, on Wednesday, March 11. It will explore the exceptional accomplishments of Ariane Daguin, founder and owner of D’Artagnan foods. With Patricia McCann as interviewer extraordinaire, we will learn the details of Ariane’s fascinating life. The invitation is going out soon. These programs sell out in the blink of an eye, so be sure to sign up as soon as possible, if you plan to attend.
Some other very in-the-news event topics, in the planning stages:
