Dinner at Sahib - A Tour Of Regional Indian Cooking

Dine with fellow Dames at Sahib restaurant, owned by Chef Hemant Mathur, husband of Dame Surbhi Sahni. Sahib was recently awarded 2 stars by Pete Wells in The New York Times for its masterful presentation of dishes not often found in other Indian restaurants. Among the dishes we’ll be served are kori gassi, an “irresistible” chicken in coconut milk stew seasoned with coriander, asafetida and curry leaves, and cauliflower coated in red chili sauce. The meal will be paired with wines from Sandhi, a small production winery focusing on select vineyards from the Sta. Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County. Nat Gurner, a representative of the winery will be present to discuss the pairings. Dessert will be provided by Surbhi’s sweets company Bittersweet NYC. Hosts: Dames Surbhi Sahni and Sharon Franke.

Walking the High Line with John and Dame Beth Allen; Breakfast Buffet at The Green Table.

Meet your fellow Dames and “Walk the High Line” on Saturday morning, June 3rd. Conducted by Dame Beth Allen's husband, John, the day will begin promptly at 9:15 am with a farm-to-table breakfast buffet at Mary Cleaver's charming eatery, The Green Table. Mary will share highlights from her storied 35-year catering and restaurateur career, as well as the food history behind The Chelsea Market, once the headquarters of Nabisco, and home of the Oreo. Walking tour starts at 10:30 am, with John and Beth offering up historical details that include the fascinating industrial, food and political backstory of The High Line, which not that long ago was a rumbling relic from Manhattan's past, scheduled for demolition. It is now a spectacular 1-3/4 mile elevated urban park, and the most visited attraction in New York City. Wear comfortable shoes.
