2017 Scholarship Application - Les Dames d’Escoffier New York

Les Dames d’Escoffier New York (LDNY) is an international organization of accomplished professional women in the food, fine beverage, and hospitality industries. The primary goal of the Annual Scholarship Program is to encourage talented women to become leaders in these industries by assisting them in furthering their professional education. Our Mentorship Program provides scholarship winners with additional support as they strive to advance in their chosen fields. All winners will also be offered the opportunity to join the Mentorship Program.

The 2017 Scholarship Program draws its applicants from women enrolled in one of LDNY’s Participating Schools. Applicants must reside in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut and must have completed at least one semester of higher education.

Interested women students are invited to submit an application. The following instructions must be read carefully. Please note that incomplete applications will be rejected. Click here for LDNY 2017 Scholarship Application.

Completed applications must be submitted to the liaison of a Participating School, who will then forward an electronic version of the application to LDNY. (Do NOT send submissions directly to LDNY.) Complete applications, sent as electronic documents by the school liaison, must be submitted to LDNY after January 9, 2017, and no later than March 6, 2017.

Scholarship recipients will be selected and notified by mid-June 2017. Please note that only scholarship recipients will be notified.

2017 Scholarship Application - Requirements

No applications will be accepted before January 9, 2017, or after March 6, 2017. All applications must be submitted through the applicant’s school, where they will be verified, scanned and forwarded to LDNY as a PDF electronic file. Click here for Participating Schools. All applicants must be residents of New York, New Jersey or Connecticut.

Submit the Application in this order:

  • Completed application
  • Resume (no longer than 2 pages)
  • Official transcript from the current institution or most recently attended college/university
  • 3-part essay of 300 words or less, see description below
  • Two professional letters of recommendation
    Note: Recommendations from friends or relatives will not be accepted

3-Part Essay should include:

  1. Career plans, goals and aspirations
  2. Relevant experience that supports career plans
  3. Volunteer and/or community service and any recognition or awards received as a result of service

Important Additional Information:

  • Incomplete applications will not be considered
  • No additional material will be considered in the application process
  • Applicants awarded scholarships will be notified in mid-June 2017 (only scholarship recipients will be notified)
  • A reception for scholarship recipients, mentors and guests will be held in July 2017
